Childcare Director-Ott Family YMCA
Join the YMCA of Southern Arizona staff team at our eastside Ott Family YMCA located at 401 S Prudence RD as our new Program Director for Preschool and School Age Childcare. Our YMCA has an exciting opportunity for a childcare professional to join a mission driven, dynamic leadership team focused on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility as we continue to make an impact on the lives of youth and families in Tucson. We are seeking a positive, enthusiastic, values driven leader to join the team who has the passion to work with youth and families to help our preschool, after school child care and summer day camp enrollment numbers continue to grow. As the Program Director the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing approximately 16 childcare sites throughout Tucson and Vail. Responsibilities will include hiring, supervision, training, evaluation, and scheduling of school age childcare and summer day camp staff, preschool staff and management of department programs. Additional responsibilities will include planning, development, advancement, and implementation of new activities for youth participants, responsibility for the childcare departments’ budgets, and establishing and maintaining collaborations with community partners to help us meet the needs of families, in addition to building relationships with volunteers. The program director will also be involved in fundraising for the branch during our Annual Campaign and working with our volunteer board and committees as requested by the Executive Director.
As part of the oversight of childcare programming the Childcare Program Director in conjunction with our childcare coordinator will assume responsibility for performing administrative duties associated with grants and grant reporting and will take the lead on processing and submitting branch paperwork while leading a team committed to building and maintaining existing relationships with the Tucson and Greater Vail community for this childcare location. Duties will also include insuring compliance with state and local regulations and that program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.
Minimum qualifications will include the incumbent possessing a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in education or a related field with at least 5 years of related experience in a child care leadership capacity. The incumbent will be responsible for submitting payroll in a timely manner to be processed, DES billing, maintaining branch records using our YMCA software, and working with vendors and staff to create a positive environment. The preferred candidate will have excellent leadership, administrative, organizational and communication skills. As this is a licensed childcare center the incumbent must have knowledge of Arizona licensing standards for school age and preschool programs. A valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card must be obtained in addition to possessing current 1st Aid/CPR certifications. Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Word and Excel are required in addition to the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
This is a full-time exempt position not limited to 40 hour work weeks with a compensation package that includes health insurance, vacation, sick pay and holidays per our company policy guidelines and 10% towards Y retirement upon meeting retirement fund eligibility requirements.

Accountant/Bookkeeper -Mulcahy/City YMCA Program Center
Join the YMCA of Southern Arizona staff team at our Mulcahy/City YMCA Program Center on a part-time basis and maintain our childcare billing records for preschool and school age childcare using our YMCA software. The accountant-bookkeeper for childcare will be working approximately 20 hours each week and will be performing data entry on child/parent accounts, filing documents, invoices, and vouchers, and collecting fees as well as tracking DES authorizations for childcare. The bookkeeper will be responsible for submitting reports to DES and other government agencies as required in a timely manner, making adjustments on accounts on a weekly basis by following our YMCA protocols, and printing ROB reports and AR reports on Fridays. During busy times the bookkeeper may also be assisting at the member services desk to answer parent billing questions and to answer general YMCA program questions. YMCA Mobile Unit Drivers-YMCA of Southern Arizona
The YMCA of Southern Arizona and the U of A Department of Nutrition Sciences Department are collaborative partners who utilize 5 Y mobile units consisting of a Climbing Wall, Mobile Bike Trailer, Activity Van, Gardening Trailer, and Activity Trailer. These Mobile Y Units are pulled by a ¾ Ton YMCA pickup. The Mobile Y Units are brought out to community schools and organizations throughout the year to provide a benefit to youth in our community and to expose them to new activities and experiences. In addition to driving the mobile units the mobile unit drivers will be responsible for transporting the units, setting them up, managing the unit for day long activities, and returning the units to the YMCA at the end of each activity.
Qualified applicants must be 21 years of age, possess a current drivers license, have 3 years of driving experience, and must provide a 3 year certified driving history from the motor vehicle department to make sure that applicants can meet our insurance criteria for drivers. Individuals must also possess a current fingerprint clearance card from AZ DPS. A post offer drug test must be successfully completed and additional certifications such as completing our online driver training and behind the wheel experience must be met prior to the individual being able to drive our vehicles. Additional certifications and trainings will be required for individuals that drive and operate the YMCA climbing wall. Wellness Instructor II/Personal Trainer-Northwest YMCA
The Northwest YMCA is seeking an individual to educate and assist members with exercise equipment, and demonstrate proper exercise techniques to keep them safe and motivated as they use our facility. The Mulcahy/City YMCA Program Center is looking to hire a driver on a part time basis to work weekdays from 1pm-6pm as needed and the Ott Family YMCA from 10am-6pm as needed . Join our kitchen staff at the Triangle Y Ranch Camp and Retreat Center and help prepare meals for our retreat groups throughout the day! The Ott Family YMCA are looking for an energetic, self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic to join our aquatics department as Head Swim Team coach for our USA swim team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to coaching, scheduling/overseeing assistant coaches, scheduling & attending swim meets and working with the Swim Team Parent Board, volunteers, members and staff. Head swim team coach (youth swim team)-Lohse Family YMCA
The Lohse Family YMCA is looking for a self-motivated, organized and enthusiastic individual with a passion for working with youth to join our aquatics department as Head Swim Team coach. Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years of age with at least 2 years of aquatics experience (preferably in competitive swimming), be able to lift and carry in excess of 50 lbs., and have the visual and auditory ability to respond to emergencies in the aquatics area. Responsibilities include but are not limited to coaching, working with assistant coaches & volunteers, attending all meets and working with the swim team parents and other aquatic staff. Successful candidate must have current CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certification. YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard certification preferred. Staff must be available to attend and participate in staff trainings & meetings as required. A post offer drug test is required for all aquatics positions. The Lohse Family YMCA is seeking a team-oriented and motivated professional with strong relationship-building skills to develop, organize and implement high quality, member-focused YMCA sports programs. The Sports Coordinator will be responsible for the overall leadership of our youth and adult sports programs/leagues to include program development and implementation, promotion of program offerings, work to increase enrollment according to current marketing strategies, create and manage the department budget as well as provide staff training and evaluations. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent, possess 1-2 years of leadership or instruction experience in related program activity, and must have First Aid/CPR certification. This is a part time position requiring 25-30 hrs per week. Position will remain open until filled. Sports Official II and III-Ott Family YMCA
Join the sports department at the Ott Family YMCA and make the sports season a positive experience for all involved. Sports Officials are part-time positions and will run our youth and adult basketball league games. Qualified applicants will be at least 18 years of age with varsity and/or JUCO certification including knowledge of the rules with the visual and verbal ability to observe and monitor participants’ behavior while enforcing safety rules. Responsibilities include officiating basketball games by following game rules and supporting our philosophy of everyone plays, everyone wins. Sports officials will also interact with staff, parents, volunteers, and participants and must exercise sound judgment to make the sports experience a memorable one. Other duties include maintaining the cleanliness of the playing area and will report results, cancellations, or problems to the program coordinator or director.
