After School Child Care at the Jacobs/City Program Center
Character development is at the heart of all YMCA programming. We believe and teach four character values in all that we do: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Our staff has developed age appropriate activities that are play-orientated. We promote physical, social, emotional and cognitive development to help reinforce a foundation of lifelong learning. Whether it’s building a fort, playing soccer, doing arts and crafts or finishing their homework, a day at Fun Factory offers each child a well-rounded selection of activities.

YMCA Fun Factory School Age Enrichment ProgramJacobs serves the following schools; the Academy of Math and Science, Amphi Middle School, Brichta, Centennial, Homer Davis, La Cima Middle School, Lulu Walker, Nash, Prince, Rio Vista, Robins, Tully and Walter Douglas.  Your child will be picked up from school (including early dismissal days) and transported to Jacobs. After school care is available until 6:00 p.m. daily for $60 per week (5 days). Each participant must have a current YMCA Program Membership, a completed registration packet and a copy of their immunization record on file.

Y Kids Adventure Days
When school is closed a full day recreational program is available at Jacobs from 7am to 6pm.  Adventure Days at the YMCA include arts and crafts, rollerblading and field trips.  Registration begins two weeks prior to the school holiday, and spaces are limited so sign up early. DES licensed. Fee is $23 per day and the program is for children 5 to 14 years old.

Preschool Child Care at the Holsclaw Child Care Center
Located just around the corner from the Lohse Family YMCA in downtown Tucson, the Holsclaw Child Care is a fully licensed child care facility for children as young as 6 weeks all the way up to 5 years old. We feature 5 classrooms, a full kitchen, an outdoor playground and indoor play opportunities at the attached Lohse YMCA. We design our activities so that they encourage children to think, question, experiment and use their imaginations. We aim to help develop the whole child in spirit, mind and body.

Our classroom ratios are kept low so that we can make sure to provide each child the attention and guidance they need. The ratio of staff to children varies by age. For infants it is 5:1, one's are 6:1, two's are 8:1, three's are 13:1 and four's and five's are 15:1.

We open at 6:00am and close at 6:00pm Monday through Friday. We are closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (and the Friday following) and Christmas Day.

Rates vary depending on your child's age. Two year olds are $133 per week, and 3-5 year olds are $128.

Financial Assistance
Financial Assistance is available for some families (based on income) through the Department of Economic Security Child Care Division (DES). Thanks to the generous gifts of individuals and companies in our community, we are also able to offer assistance to some families through the YMCA Financial Assistance Program. Assistance is limited by the resources we have available, so we recommend that you apply as early as possible.
