The YMCA of Southern Arizona has a variety of programs throughout Tucson including basketball, soccer, volleyball, wrestling, cheerleading, baseball and itty bitty sports, just to name a few. Check out what Lighthouse (central), Lohse (downtown), Northwest and Ott (east) have to offer.
Jr. Suns & Jr. Mercury
The YMCA of Southern Arizona is now Tucson’s exclusive Jr. Suns/Jr. Mercury provider. For more than ten years Jr. Suns and Jr. Mercury leagues have been providing kids with the opportunity to learn what it takes to win both on and off the court.
These leagues emphasize fun while encouraging fundamental skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, positive adult participation and community involvement.
Jr. Suns/Jr. Mercury Youth Basketball Leagues are associated with the NBA’s Phoenix Suns and the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, offering boys and girls ages 6 - 18 of all skill levels with an opportunity to play in up to three seasons each year.
Jr. Suns/Jr. Mercury league benefits include:
- Certificate of Participation
- A special program gift (t-shirt, hat, basketball, backpack, etc.)
- Special tickets discounts for other Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury games
- Chance to play on the U.S. Airways Center court before a Suns or Mercury game
- Appearances by Suns and Mercury players, coaches, cheerleaders or mascot
- Chance to play on the U.S. Airways Center Court during YMCA Post Season Tournament

If you or your child participated in a YMCA sports program, we'd like to ask you to help us out by taking a quick survey (link will be available only after season ends). Please provide your input through our Parent/Player Participant Survey. These evaluations will assist us in maintaining our high standards and recognizing the great volunteer coaches that are making a difference in our association, and can be completed anonymously.
