COMING TOGETHER IN SUPPORT OF THE Y’S GLOBAL OUTREACH
COME ONE! COME ALL! A NIGHT OF FAMILY FUN WHILE SUPPORTING A GREAT CAUSE.
While the YMCA of Southern Arizona focuses primarily on serving our local community, we are also global citizens, supporting important international charities that serve immigrant and refugee children.
SUPPORTING THE YMCA IN HAITI
The YMCA of Southern Arizona has a long history supporting a YMCA in rural Haiti. In 2011, six YMCAs came together with the Haiti YMCA to form a coalition that would focus on a five year plan to strengthen the planning, fundraising and stability of the Haiti YMCAs.
The work that the coalition provides strengthens the growth and longevity of the Haiti YMCAs. It also provides us a broader look at the Global Engagement in the YMCA and how every Y staff person, member, and volunteer can be part of giving back to Ys globally.
SUPPORT FOR REFUGEE CHILDREN HERE IN SOUTHERN ARIZONA
The YMCA of Southern Arizona has partnered with Doolen Middle School right here in Tucson to provide assistance and programs to refugee students. Our goal is to strengthen the community and create support systems, providing assets to refugee students. Programs are offered to the students that make it possible for them to have fun, build friendships, and learn team building skills in a safe, supervised environment.
Tickets are $65 each or two for $100. Show, pizza and soda are included with the ticket. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. For more information contact Monica Lopez at (520) 623-5200 ext 231 or Monical@tucsonymca.org.
