Join the YMCA of Southern Arizona team this summer at one of the offsite pools where we promote safety around water in the community by providing swim lessons to kids. Lead one of our staff teams as a coordinator for the All Kids Swim program. You will be overseeing the preparation, set up, registration, and clean-up of the assigned All Kids Swim facility, while working with outside agencies for smooth operation of YMCA and non YMCA aquatics facilities and YMCA supervisor to facilitate a positive relationship with our partners. While focusing on All Kids Swim, we work to maintain positive relationships and operations. Program marketing in the community will be required as the incumbent will be using existing marketing materials from our Association while maintaining a professional presence at your assigned pool. The onsite coordinator will be assisting the Program Director with the hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, and evaluation of aquatics staff at his/her assigned location and coordinating and leading staff with inservice trainings on a bi-weekly basis. Applying and enforcing safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area in addition to properly responding, documenting and reporting any emergency situations and other incidents following YMCA protocol with a focus on being organized is required. Qualified applicants must be at least 21 years old with 3 years prior aquatics experience, possess current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer or equivalents covering CPR for Adults, children, and infants, AED use, and First Aid certificate and possess current YMCA or American RedCross Lifeguard certificate. Additional requirements are: must obtain YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification prior to program start date, must have a minimum of 1 year experience teaching swim lessons, have current Pool Operator Certification or must obtain prior to program start date, and must be able to verbally explain chemical levels. All employees will lead by example to teach children the importance of the YMCA core values: Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility. A post offer background screening and drug test must be completed prior to beginning this position.
