Teach kids important safety around water skills and stay cool in the Arizona heat! The YMCA of Southern Arizona is looking for energetic, self-motivated individuals with a strong work ethic to help make our All Kids Swim program a success! Qualified Aquatics Instructor I applicants must be at least 16 years old with a minimum of 3 months aquatics experience. Aquatics Instructor II applicants must be at least 18 old, have a high school diploma or equivalent and have a minimum of 1-3 years aquatics experience. Both Aquatics Instructor I/II applicants must have the visual and auditory ability to respond to emergencies in the aquatics area, have current Emergency Oxygen, CPR/AED and First Aid. Instructors will be responsible for promoting safety, teaching students, creating/implementing curriculum, and employing approved life saving techniques in the event of an emergency. Training will be available for individuals with strong swimming capabilities and are otherwise qualified for the position but do not have the necessary certifications. Staff must be available to attend and participate in staff trainings as they occur. All employees will lead by example to teach participants the importance of the YMCA core values: Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility. A post offer drug screening and background check are required.
