The YMCA of Southern Arizona is looking for safety minded, friendly, enthusiastic individuals to join our team of lifeguards at the centrally located Lighthouse/City YMCA near Fort Lowell and Columbus. As a part time employee in the aquatics department we need lifeguards that are available to work various shifts which may be mornings, evenings, and weekends as we are open 7 days a week and have one outdoor pool we manage. Qualified lifeguard I applicants must be at least 16 years of age and have a minimum of 3 months aquatics experience. Lifeguard II applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older with a minimum of 1-3 years aquatics experience. Both lifeguard I and II applicants must hold current certifications as a YMCA or American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, have the ability to lift and carry in excess of 50 lbs. and have the visual and auditory ability to respond to emergencies in the aquatics area. These are part-time, non-benefit eligible positions with varying work schedules, and will remain open until filled. Staff must also be available to attend and participate in trainings & in-services as they occur. A post-offer drug screening test and background screening are required.
