Would you like to spend the summer at the pool? The YMCA of Southern Arizona needs energetic, self-motivated individuals with a strong work ethic to make our All Kids Swim program successful! Responsibilities include but are not limited to testing pool chemicals, promoting safety, regulating swimmers and employing approved lifesaving and first aid techniques in the event of an emergency. Qualified Lifeguard I applicants must be at least 16 years old and Lifeguard II applicants must be at least 18 years old with a minimum of 1-3 years aquatics experience. Both Lifeguard I/II candidates must have the ability to lift and carry in excess of 50 lbs., have the visual and auditory ability to respond to emergencies in the aquatics area and must have current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid and YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard certification and preferred pool operators certificate. Lifeguard Certification training will be available for individuals with strong swimming capabilities and are otherwise qualified for the position but do not have the necessary certifications. All employees will lead by example to teach participants the importance of the YMCA core values: Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility. Staff must be able to attend and participate in staff trainings as they occur. A post offer drug screening and background check are required.
