Join our downtown family YMCA child care staff team and play an influential role in the life of our preschoolers! The YMCA is looking for an energetic and motivated individual who enjoys working with children to help them acquire the necessary skills to be successful in kindergarten and beyond. Positive interaction and developing age appropriate lesson plans weekly will be an important role of this position. Being able to effectively communicate between staff, participants, and parents is essential. Hours may vary, due to program needs but will be Monday–Friday from 1:00pm-6:00pm. Applicants must be available to attend and participate in training sessions to become aware of state childcare licensing requirements and YMCA childcare policies. Qualified Leader I applicants will be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent, and 6 months or more of childcare experience or NAC, CDA, CPC, or CCP credential or an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in childcare or a closely related field. Applicant must have current infant/child CPR/1st Aid certification; a TB skin test must be done as well as submittal of fingerprints to AZ DPS within 7 days of hire for a fingerprint clearance card. All employees will lead by example to teach children the importance of the YMCA core values: Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility. This is a part-time, non-benefit eligible position and will remain open until filled.
