Join the sports staff team at the Ott Family YMCA and teach youth ages 6 and older how to skateboard like a pro. Classes are held Saturdays from 8:30am – 10:00am. As a youth instructor you will be working with youth and parents as you help kids learn the fundamentals of skateboarding safely. The instructor must demonstrate patience and introduce youth to skateboarding and an active lifestyle in a fun way. Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of 3 years working with children 6 and older. The incumbent must have current First Aid/CPR certification and possess the verbal ability to instruct participants using age-appropriate terminology as well as be able to demonstrate how to perform each sports activity. Experience skateboarding is required to demonstrate proper technique to participants. A positive attitude and being an energetic leader will be tremendously important, as instructor you will be teaching participants of varying skill levels. All employees will lead by example to teach participants the importance of the YMCA core values: Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility. A post offer background screening is required for this position.
