Summer Learning Loss Prevention Program Enrichment Leaders will be responsible for creating a safe, healthy, and engaging environment that enriches literacy through arts, music, physical activity, character development, STEM, and nutrition education. Under the supervision of the Site Director, Enrichment Leaders will be responsible for the academic and social development of our students, for planning and implementation of activities that reinforce the subjects being taught. Our program maintains an 8 student to 1 leader ratio and enjoys weekly themes and fieldtrips to deepen learning. Prior experience with program planning, design, and implementation in a variety of areas including sports, nature activities, arts and crafts, group games, and songs/music is a huge plus. All employees will lead by example to teach campers the importance of the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, as well as Character Development. We need a reliable applicant that is good at communicating and problem solving, who can think on their feet. Qualified applicants will be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent; two or more years of college is preferred. Applicants should possess current child CPR/1st Aid certification, have a minimum of 2 years previous experience working with elementary grade children, have a TB skin test done prior to program start date and will be required to submit fingerprints to AZ DPS within 7 days of hire to obtain a fingerprint clearance card if you do not currently have one. Applicants over 21 who are also considered for driving must have held a valid driver’s license for at least three years which is current and submit a copy of your 3 year driving history from the MVD, and submit to a post offer drug screening. A high degree of physical activity is required and the ability to withstand a variety of weather conditions including heat and humidity is imperative.

Candidates must have a flexible schedule, SLLP will run Monday afternoons and all day Friday, hours will vary based on business needs and there will be required trainings and staff meetings. SLLP fun for the children begins June 3rd at Holladay Elementary. The first mandatory training for employees will be held May 18, 2019, remaining trainings to be determined through the months of May and April.
