The Northwest YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to educate and assist members with exercise equipment and demonstrate proper exercise techniques to keep them safe and motivated as they use our facility. Qualified applicants will be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent, possess current CPR and First Aid Certification/AED and YMCA Strength and Conditioning Certification or a Personal Trainer Certification from a credited organization. Duties also include supervising the strength training area and ensuring that it remains a clean and safe environment, assisting in the preventative maintenance of equipment. Communication with staff and members of all age groups and who are at varying levels of well-being is imperative in this position. All employees will lead by example to teach participants the importance of the YMCA core values: Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility. Applicants must be available to work a flexible schedule for about 16-20 hours a week, shifts may vary, must be available to work evenings/weekends and must be available to attend and participate in all staff trainings/meeting as they occur.
