EXPERIENCE THE Y

The YMCA of Southern Arizona’s mobile app provides more ways for you to engage with the Y and meet your fitness goals. Features include mobile phone check-in, access class schedules, workout tracking, and syncing with popular tracking devices and apps like FitBit and MyFitnessPal.

App features

  • Member check-in – Enter your membership ID into the Y Mobile App for fast facility access.
  • Find a class – Use the enhanced filter options to find a classes by instructor, class name, or activity type.
  • Set wellness goals – Create and manage your goals by workout type, calories burned, time or distance.
  • Record workouts – Track your progress by recording your workouts by manually typing in the information or use the fast and convenient xCapture feature.
  • Participate in challenges – Stay motivated throughout your fitness journey by participating in fitness and wellness challenges.
  • Request a Trainer – Connect with a Trainer to schedule a Fitness Assessment or begin a customize workout plan.
  • Syncing –  Use the Connected Apps icon to streamline your health data and sync your activity with popular fitness tracking devices and apps.
  • Activity Feed – Share your workouts and connect with others!

Where can I download the app?

The Y Mobile App is available in the App Store and in Google Play.

Download the app in your device’s app store by searching for “Tucson YMCA” or “YMCA of Southern Arizona.”

Is there an additional cost?

The Y Mobile App is an added value experience to help you reach your fitness goals. There is no cost to download or use the app.

How do I log in?

To begin your fitness journey with the Y Mobile App, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the app and click the “Create Account” button.
  2. Choose your home YMCA location.
  3. Finish signing up by filling in your contact information (first name, last name, and email) and create a password.
  4. Explore the Y Mobile App!

How do I check-in to the Y using the app?

One of the many features of the Y Mobile App is digital check-in.

This means you no longer have to bring in your membership card. To use this feature follow the steps below:

  1. Log in the the Y Mobile App.
  2. Click the barcode icon located in the top right corner.
  3. Select the “Add Barcode” button.
  4. Type in your membership ID number located on your membership card or scan the barcode.
  5. Click “Save” in the top right corner.

How do I find a class on the app?

To find a class using the Y Mobile App follow these steps:

  1. Log in the the Y Mobile App.
  2. Click the “Group Ex Schedule” icon.
  3. Select the appropriate date you are available.
  4. Then, click the class you are interested in to learn more.
  5. Click “Add to Calendar” button and the app will automatically set a reminder.

How do I set my wellness goals?

One of the best features to help you reach your fitness goals on the Y Mobile App is the Goal Center.

To use this feature follow the steps below:

  1. Log in the the Y Mobile App.
  2. Click the “Goal Center” icon.
  3. Select your goal type (number of workouts, calories, time, or distance).
  4. Select your target.
  5. Select the period of time in which you wish to reach your goal.
  6. Name your goal.

How do I record a workout?

No matter your workout routine, you can record all your workouts with this easy to use feature. However, there are two ways to record your workouts.

Record Manually:

  1. Log in the the Y Mobile App.
  2. Click the “Record a Workout” icon.
  3. Click the “Record Manually” button.
  4. Enter the workout information in the space provided (date, time, type, distance, duration, and calories).
  5. Click “Add” in the top right corner to save.

xCapture:

  1. Log in the the Y Mobile App.
  2. Click the “Record a Workout” icon.
  3. Click the “xCapture” button.
  4. Select the device type: bike, elliptical, recumbent bike, stepper, treadmill, and/or other.
  5. Capture the full control panel when you finish your workout: time, calories, and distance.
  6. Click the “Submit” button to save.

How do I participate in challenges?

This Challenges feature is a fun way to mix up your workout routine. To participate in a challenge follow the below steps:

  1. Log in the the Y Mobile App.
  2. Click the “Challenges” icon.
  3. Click one or more of the challenges that seems interesting to you to learn more.

What are the upcoming challenges?

April Challenge: Stronger Together (April 14th- 28th)
Join your Y family in a fun atmosphere by participating in 3 group ex. classes per week for 2 weeks. While you’re there meet someone new. To log your workout quickly use the xCapture feature. Ask your instructor how. Finish the challenge to be entered into a raffle for some Y swag.

June Challenge: Go the Distance (June 3rd – 30th)
Run, bike, walk, swim, jog, row, hop on the nearest piece of cardio equipment or go outside… the opportunities are endless! Complete a half Marathon (13.1 miles) by June 30th. Complete your mileage and get entered into the “finishers” raffle for some awesome Y gear.

August Challenge: Back to school, Back to you (August 5th – 31st) 
Summer is over, jump back into healthy habits! Feel accomplished after you log 10 workouts during this challenge. After you complete the challenge you’ll be entered into a raffle to win some cool Y swag.

October Challenge: Wicked Workout (October 17th – 31st)
Don’t let Halloween take you by surprise. Push yourself and log 8 workouts in 2 weeks for a chance to win our wicked finishers raffle!

Holiday Challenge: Holiday Burn – Maintain don’t gain (November 24th- January 4th)
Step it up for the holidays; this challenge is designed to help you maintain your current weight over the next 6 weeks. Log 8,000 calories burned to help keep off those extra pounds. Once you reach the goal you’ll be entered to win the Holiday Challenge raffle!

How do I request a Trainer?

At the Y, we are here to help you reach your wellness goals. This feature provides two convenient options for your to take the next step in your fitness journey.

Fitness Assessment:
During this assessment, a Trainer will assess your current fitness levels, identify training needs, and help you set goals.

Request a Trainer:
Get started with a Trainer! Create customized workout plans and goals in a supportive environment.

To get started with this feature follow the below steps:

  1. Log in the the Y Mobile App.
  2. Click the “Request a Trainer” icon.
  3. Select “Fitness Assessment” or “Request a Trainer.”
  4. Complete the form and click the “Send” button.

Does it connect with other fitness apps?

The Y Mobile App connects with the following fitness trackers:

What if I forgot my password?

You can reset your password by selecting the “Forgot password?” link located below the log in button.

The app isn't working properly, what do I do?

If you are receiving a loading error message, close the app and shut off the wifi. Then, turn it back on and reopen the app.

If the app freezes, delete the app and reinstall.
