Achieve a Healthy Balance
In gymnastics, children work to develop coordination, balance, fitness as well as self confidence in a safe and fun environment. Participants in YMCA gymnastics they learn high ethical standards as well as the responsibilities of dedication and commitment. The lessons learned from being a part of the team include the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith.
Children work to develop coordination, balance, fitness and self confidence in a safe and fun environment.
Children 3 to 5 years old learn the fundamentals of movement, tumbling, balance, strength and flexibility.
Children 6 to 15 years old learn the beginning fundamentals of movement through tumbling, balance, strength and flexibility.
Tumbling II (Advanced)
This class is for children who have mastered the beginner and intermediate tumbling skills. Children will be working tucks, layouts, twisting, and much more.
aDVANCED tUMBLING & PARKOUR
Designed for those students that have mastered the skills of the beginner tumbling class and are prepared for the next stage. The student should be ready to learn flipping motions, how to climb higher obstacles, flip off walls and experience the art of motion.
Everyone can learn to be a superhero at the YMCA. This class is designed to help kids go from a sidekick to a hero by focusing on physical, mental, and social skill development. Students will work as a team to solve a problem through a mission. Missions will involve imagined circumstances that require traveling to a new setting to stop the bad behavior of a villain. Bad behaviors will generally include theft, lying, or potentially hurtful outcomes. Students will work to define why the bad behavior is “bad,” and then stop the evil plan of the villain, seeing that justice is served. Kids are welcome to dress up as their favorite superhero for this class.
