Teen Leadership programs are a hallmark of the YMCA. We believe this is the age to join your peers and experience opportunities to deepen your interests and understanding of the importance of becoming a leader.
Y Teen L.i.F.E. at the Northwest YMCA
Y Teen LIFE helps develop youth ages 12-18 as leaders while fostering a culture of service. With adult advisors, teens have role models and mentors who will provide a positive impact on their lives as they grow in their desire and ability to be a positive force in the community. Teens are encouraged to participate in community service projects, monthly workshops/seminars and other Y events.

- experience college and career day and visits to colleges for campus tours
Junior Lifeguard (11-14)
Teens have the opportunity to learn 5 major areas of lifeguarding: injury prevention, emergency response, physical fitness, professionalism, and leadership. More information
Leaders in Training
YMCA Leaders in Training provides teens opportunities to volunteer, explore career possibilities, work in groups and make new friends. Participants also receive introductions to technology and art.
Teens over 15 who pass a qualifying swim test have the opportunity to participate in the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training. Class includes certification, CPR, First Aid as well as AED.
Teen Leadership Program (12 – 18)
Get your teen active! Technology, arts, and creativity help teens become active in the community and prepare them for the future. Join us for our school semester programs or our weeks of summer camp!
Teens in grades 6 through 9 come out for an evening of fun and excitement in a safe environment. Teens enjoy a night filled with dancing and competitive active electronic games.
Y Leaders & Jr. Y Leaders
The YMCAs Y Leaders program provides Teens in grades 7 through 12 the opportunity to become a voice for their generation and make a difference in their community and world.
