Teen Leadership programs are a hallmark of the YMCA. We believe this is the age to join your peers and experience opportunities to deepen your interests and understanding of the importance of becoming a leader.

Youth and Government

Youth and Government gives high school students the opportunity to take part in the Arizona governmental process. Teens will attend pre-legislative and model-legislative conferences in Phoenix.

70TH ANNUAL MODEL LEGISLATURE & COURT

Join us at the Northwest YMCA on Mondays at 6:30pm starting on August 21st!
Participants will meet weekly as they write bills, debate policy issues, and take on roles in our state government.
Learn how the Arizona legislative process works by living it, meeting new people, and having fun!

Leadership-Inspiration-Friendship-Engagement
Y Teen LIFE helps develop youth ages 12-18 as leaders while fostering a culture of service.  With adult advisors, teens have role models and mentors who will provide a positive impact on their lives as they grow in their desire and ability to be a positive force in the community.  Teens are encouraged to participate in community service projects, monthly workshops/seminars and other Y events.

Teens will:

  • connect with peers and adults who care about their success
  • participate in skill-building workshops and seminars, including guest speakers and field trips
  • experience college and career day and visits to colleges for campus tours
